TUBER BORCHII / BIANCHETTO is distinguished by a strong and characteristic garlic smell, which can sometimes be sharp, especially when very ripe. Its appearance and aroma are similar to tuber magnatum, but this species is significantly smaller. Truffles range in size from a pea to a tennis ball. They ripen from January to April and are found in Central and Southern Europe, including Bulgaria.
